Prob bit of a odd question this, Ive got a '98/'99 A6 2.8 Avant and I also have a caravan, The front of the my A6 sits quite high and I want to lower the front so it matches the rear, but I also have a caravan so dont want the rear any lower,

Im thinking as the 1.8T A6 is a lighter engine than my 2.8 V6 by fitting the 1.8T front springs it will lower the front of my car? But as I have a caravan when Im towing I dont want the front springs to come out of situe, Im guesssing the 1.8 and 2.8 springs will be the same hight?

Hope that makes sense?? any idea's what to do?

Stu

You'll have to be careful of the spring compression rates. The lower rate would be for a lighter engine.
That someone here could obtain the parts numbers from E K T A for both cars front suspension springs, you may find them totally different in how much weight they can handle. There are also colour codes on the springs that relate to fittment for specific cars.

From memory, I was sure that Audi did a "caravan" spring and shock for the rear, sometimes refered to as "Heavy Duty". Check out the dealer for some info.

A friend of mine in Germany fitted a set of Konis, with adjustable rate dampers and spring length/travel. He had the rear slightly high, and with his caravan was hooked up, it balanced out nicely. Just check your lights alignment if you go this way.
