i have a 2.0E fwd. my gearbox is erm, well its a bit ill. ive just been told about a 80 quattro thats an mot fail on rot and i might be gettin it for pennies. is it possible to basically unbolt my running gear and bolt in the quattro system, rear setup etc?

im sure i read somewhere something needs welding to make it slightly stronger

Hi mate

Unfortunately the floors are completely different, you'd have to cut out the floor and weld a quattro floor in!

Not worth the effort.

hmm what a bugger...will have to see how bad the rot is on it. apparantly its the strut top. failing that, strip it for spares

What reg is your 80?

Some folk have looked at the B4 80's and reckon it's about 85% quattro ready. Location points are present for the rear subframe just they are plugged. That said, you would still need fuel tank and have to have mounts added for the exhaust.

If it's a B3 you have then not so good I'm afraid.

i have a k-reg B4, the quattro is a L-reg B4. whole car so in theory id have everything id need if it was a simple enough swap. ive heard that its near enough "bolt on and go"
