Bit of a miss hap today Confused

Mate gave me a call asking if I could check his battery for him - hes got a 1.9 tdi A4. I had forgotten hoe much of a pain the A4s are to work on compared to the 80/90 as all sorts of stuff needs to come off just to get the battery out Confused

Anyway I cant work out whats wrong with his battery so we swap them over (my 90 for his) just to try them out. To cut a long story short my mate wired up the battey to oddball the wrong way round - there were sparks and the fan came on Confused

We swapped frank banter Laughing

before I disconnected the battery quickly -I get into the car to check if everythings working and notice that the friggin ABS light has decided to stay on permanent mode in the dash..........ARHHHHH my nemesis returns Evil or Very Mad

I dunno if the battery things has made it this way or if its just coincidence or something.....pance all the same Confused

Anyway the A4 needs a new battery as the other form unipart was crap Twisted Evil

Check all the fuses Dyl.
I think I'm right in thinking there's a fuse in the top of the ABS relay under the black cover on the ABS unit itself. Deleted on later models, but think it'll be there on yours.

Oh, and take care of the RS2 rear panel. They are now NLA and demand a pretty penny secondhand Wink

I will take some photos soon but there has been a few mods undertaken to oddbal.

It now sports a kamei de badged grille, tinted indicator lenses all round (the back panels been tinted black also) and it now has the 17" alloys swapped over from trooper.

There's a 6 disk changer and new head unit going up front and a new set of speakers are on order.

On the down side, I still need to sort the ABS issue, the brake accumilator is on the way out and the engine still needs sorting as its getting worse by the day......but its still good Cool

Like a few others I read this and though, eh, has he been taking something funny?

Sorry to hear the post has ended but it is another pillar for Audi's build quality for you to walk away from a 20 year old car shaken but not stirred.
