16v ace got 12v refrence at tps can any one please help

Hi im new to the use of forums and you guys know your stuff. Ive got an b4 coupe withe the ace engine and yet again suffering from an bad idle. Ive been doing the normal checks ive read about on this forum.
While haveing an look i noticed the the conector plug on the tps was cracked to a point that i could see the tops of the conectors and i thought it was an good time to get my meter on them and was suprised to see i had 12 volts and not 5 volts.
I then disconeted the plug to test agaiin and the middle connector was earthed and ive got 12 volts on the other two ?, i was expecting one earth one 5v refrence and one signal wire. I have owned this car for severn years and love it and before i get her repainted as the paint work is tired.
Im hoping to get her running like it should. If any one can point me in the right direction that would be great as ive being trying for years to get an wiring diagrams for this engine with no look.

On a 2.0 16v the throttle body has a tps 048 133 154 attached and should contain a 3pin connector. Pin 2 being the earth. and 1&3 are Closed and Wide open switch feeds respectively.

If you wish to check if yours is working all you need is a simple multimeter and to carry out the following tests

pin condition resistance ohms
1&2 Throttle closed Zero
1&2 Throttle Slightly open Infinity
2&3 Throttle closed Infinity
2&3 Throttle fully open zero

If youre getting anything else you have a faulty switch. They tend to fail due to age with inconsistant switching due to the potting insulation breaking down. Note they are costly to replace; mine came from Bosch.
