If it is indeed a failed pump - then you can either go for a used part from a breaker yard, or better still a refurbished fuel pump stripped and rebuilt by a diesel fuel injection specialist. In Aberdeen I've used Airylea Motors who rebuilt a Bosch fuel pump on my B4 1Z TDI a few years back.

VAGcom, read the fault codes before doing anything else.

Good luck

Thanks for replies. As I have come to understand once the fuel injector pump runs dry it causes major mechanical failure of the pump, is this true in all cases?.
