Wow, you would do that? Gee thanks! I am haggling over a price at the minute and asking for more photos/info etc so very early days and probably come to nothing. The dealer is not a dealer either, private sale which should really be reflected in the price in my mind.
Yes, it's a genuine offer mate. If you're seriously interested then let me know. See if you can find out exactly where the car is too.
Looks a nice car, I'm not up to speed on prices, but I wouldn't have said it was cheap for a 5 year old car?

Gee you are a hero! I would certainly see you alright for it. However I will only call you in if it comes to the point am 99% up for the car. It is in Yeovil by the way.
I did a reg check on it today and to be honest there is a couple of things not adding up. There is finance attached to the car which in itself may not be a major deal as he maybe just at the point in paying it off. However, he has only had the car just over a year. Obviously it is impossible to work out if he just took a loan on part or all of the car but it would seem a year is a very sort time to be repaying a loan of that size. Also, if it is as good as car as he says why getting rid after one year. I.e. it has been replaced and is on a SORN. All questions I have asked and waiting a reply.
Reg wise it is actually a very late 2007 as well so it is really not that old a car. Mileage a bit high for its age and a pitty it is in that Audi gray that I am not a fan off.

I take some of it back, a reply which included:
"There is a settlement to RCI Finance which will be cleared at the time of sale. They are aware that I'm selling the car as I called them for the settlement figure and asked that they put a note on their system. All above board. I financed the car as I took a monthly car allowance from my employer which more than covered the payment. I took a Company car in the end as my mileage has increased considerably and I'd rather kill their car and not my own. I didn't need to rely on the car allowance to afford the Audi, hence why I got the Co Car in September and have only just decided to sell the Audi. Was going to keep it but it just doesn't get used. "
I think I believe this to be honest, but, not going to chance it all the same. Maybe if I had known at the start I don't know. Definately not now though.
Many thanks for your kind offer of going to see it QuattroJames, your a true gent. I will not need you now but will catch up and buy you a pint all the same if in the SW!
Not a huge fan of them in red really either, but think I prefer it to the gray. No leather and slightly high on the miles. Not sure if am going to wait for the right car to come along, however will it exist?? Seller not going to budge from the starting price but at least it is from a dealer

Yeovil... that's a journey and a half. I drove down there in 2010 to pick up a new boat, which turned out to be damaged so ending up driving home again minus the boat. I was so angry I could have gone postal! Ended up doing the same journey 4 months later but only as far as Preston where the dealer met me half-way.
Quite like the red one... pity it wasn't leather though.
Came across this... 203bhp ...auto-box ...Plymouth ...but is fully loaded
Given the choice I'd probably still go for the 230bhp version. Early days though... the right car will come along.

Aye, I have done a few trips for cars, usually the few hundred pounds on eBay. Got a 2.2 Coupe in Northampton and the 90q 20v in Wrexham. I love a good road trip but they can go wrong too.
Getting fed up waiting now! Am not good at waiting it seems. The one in Yeovil is now gone. I got an email about an hour ago (no joke) with a rather smug message saying that he paid his finance off and he sold it for £400 more than he offered it to me for.
Yep like the red one but no leather. Mileage a bit high too but could live with that. Have thought about maybe transplanting leather in at a later date but you are probably right, wait for the right car. Auto, definately something I could not live with :<

Wemyss - that's half the battle. You've got the money, you know the specific model, and specification... so now you just have to wait it out. You know if you compromise it will irritate you every time you get into it. Bide your time hombre!

Ever thought about selling cars for a living!!!
It's like Match.com... but for cars!
I'd be rubbish. I'm not much of a haggler, and tend to over-price things. I'd rather work on em than sell em.

They do come up, don't take this wrong way - but if you've been looking for over a year it would suggest your price expectations are in need of alignment.
Maybe thats a little bit overpriced (have you rang and asked if they'd negotiate? I bet they would) but it's an average-low miles S-Line, it's going to cost you at the end of the day. The quattro S-Line is a rare beast.

No offence taken, I've got £4-6k for the right 1.8tq avant, not bothered if it's an S line, a sport is fine. One has turned up 20 miles from me, probably looking at it tomorrow, I may up the budget and look for a B5 RS4.
