No problems Jim.
I've er'd on the side of caution and ordered the above linked rim's in 8J x 18" ET35 with 225/40/18 tyres. Wink
Spax 40/35 lowering kit also on order. Adjustable gas dampers and fixed height springs.

On another note, the central locking was doing my head in. Put key in either drivers or passenger door and turn to unlock and it would only unlock that door. Had to press the central locking switch on the drivers door card to unlock the rest of the car.
WTF? why's it do that? scratch

Out comes the handbook Embarassed Ahhh, turn the key twice fast to unlock all the car at once.
DOH Embarassed

Wish I could get my hands on a Votex central locking kit the likes of vagparts used to sell. No amount of internet searching brings up a seller.
Not going the rightclick route, if I'd left the one I bought for sooty in there, it would 100% have set the car on fire.

Also discovered the auto-close feature too. Very cool.

[Note to self......read the chuffin handbook sooner you muppet Bad Grin Bad Grin ]

A couple of the crimped terminals were very loose, then fell out of the multiplug. With it hooked up to a live and earth only, the plastic case got that hot, the plastic started to melt.
Returned to RC where they offered an exchange, but told em no thanks, just give me my money back. Which they did.
Possibly a one off, seems many have them fitted without issue, but once bitten twice shy for me.

Thanks for the pictures Jim thumbright

Glad I choose 225 width and not 235 as I think I'd have had a bit suspension contact.

So here we go, few pics snapped after I pratted around trying to find the locking wheel bolt adapter for 2.5 hours Rolling Eyes Laughing

Love em. Really happy with the choice Very Happy

That looks awesome thumbleft

Hoping suspension kit will turn up tomorrow, so I can get her off down to get it fitted on Saturday.

Forgot to mention where the wheels came from. Did a massive search through fleabay to get a feel for prices. One seller had them at a good price, but feedback rating let them down with delayed delivery and damage.
Ended up getting them from Wheelbase in Oldham. Great faultless service and they came packaged up spot on.
Four 8J x 18" ET35 wheels, four 225/40/18 W tyres, four spigot rings and twenty taper seat bolts delivered to the door for £485.
Ok, cheapy tyres, but I'll wear em out and fit some of my favourite Vredsteins later on.

Thanks for the photoshop Jon Very Happy.

That is a right bargain!!! Nice one.

I have a right click box in my coupe and it works spot on every time! I even moved it from the inner rear wing to under the dash to incorperate the factory alarm without any wires falling out etc.

Just bought one of these from ebay germany. I'll fit a four rings badge on the front.

The daily trawl of ebay.de has paid off. Eventually found one.
Was only a week ago while hoovering the seats that I realised even though never available to the UK 100/A6, they would defo fit Very Happy

The drive down and back from Stanford Hall yesterday only reinforced my need of one. .

Armlehne Very Happy Wink

Ahh, extra Komfort! lol

Is the grill not nearly the same as the one you have? They both look like they have 4 bars the only real differance is the new one doesnt have rings or the seat for them but if your planning on putting them on anyway? Am i missing something? Embarassed

The grille on at the minute is the standard one, but with a black trim tape covering the chromed outer edge. The tape is good, but it bugs me that I can see two joins. Spraying isn't an option, I sprayed the grille on the 80 twice and still it got stone chipped.
The new one is all black, but just without the rings. I like the four rings badge, just not the chrome outer edge. Picky I know.

Other option would be to either find a secondhand S6 Plus grille (unlikely) or buy a new one, but at £200 I think not.

Hope that's not the same Spax kit I bought for mine originally because the dampers were pure crap.

more about it here

Spink, if yours is a quattro or a sport, the spax kit that fits this wont fit yours because the rear dampers are different. So far the only aftermarket rears Ive seen for the quattro are the bilstein sprintlines (which are tempting).

Dont buy supersport, you dont need suspension thats branded "Pleasure Unlimited" Razz

Lol, i found that branding quite funny too. But my i just fitted a supersport kit to my coupe and i am very pleased with it. I spoke to the guys at Venom motorsport and told them my requirements and was told that KW and weitec stuff is a little better but not that much better for the price and H & R and Eibach are better but i could not afford them at the time.

My supersport kit has definately firmed the ride up quite a bit but i think this will settle a little with age. It seamed very good quality (german TUV aprooved) when i put it together and at £157 for shocks and springs all round i really have no complaints.

Obveously i have no experience with these bigger cars really so cant tell you how it would feel. Think my dads S6 is running Koni adj shocks and standard sport springs (not sure on the springs tho) and that rides great.
