Spink, if yours is a quattro or a sport, the spax kit that fits this wont fit yours because the rear dampers are different. So far the only aftermarket rears Ive seen for the quattro are the bilstein sprintlines (which are tempting).

Dont buy supersport, you dont need suspension thats branded "Pleasure Unlimited" Razz

mines a 2wd AEL SE,can't say i have seen a 'sport'.Or do you mean a car which had factory fitted sport suspension?mine certainly hasnt got that,as i can drive over any pothole and not feel a thing Laughing

Sport suspension on the 2wd is like the Quattro, semi sensible ride height unlike standard 2wd which is like the average monster truck on steroids..

There wasn't a specific sport model like there was with later 100 C3 though..

I still think equating sport with the A6 C4 is laughable in a similar way to seeing a sport badge on the back of a Range Rover, an oxymoron

yeh i meant one that has the factory sport suspension on, I assumed that it was a sport pack with the lower springs/dampers/recaros and 3 spoke steering wheel.

Id disaggree with that, my a6 went very nicely round the ring:

Hell on earth this week at work, hence absence and non replies.

James, bit weird you should ask. I've been emailing spax about the suspension kit I ordered, more to the point, like where the fup is it?
They've now decided it no longer exists Confused

I can have springs, but not dampers. Or I can have a front coilover kit.
Yeah, right. Coilovers on the front and nothing on the back. Nice one Spax........NOT. Order cancelled.

Currently hunting ebay Germany suspension listings. They have a lot more on offer.
Will see what turns up.

PI springs/shocks are sooo nasty and crashy! theyre like cheapest of the cheap Sad Im thinking of going for Koni dampers and audi sport springs in the hope of firming it up a little but keeping the ride quality. Im too old for rock hard crashy suspension, especially on a sensible car!

I love the koni adjustable I got for mine but I did have to shorten them as then don't make a short enough version for my lowness. Getting through the chrome vanadium on the lathe was quite hard because it was almost as tough as the lathe tool..

Superb though, and you can adjust them to your tastes, initially I went too firm on the rear and it was like a touring car Laughing

btw I have the strut tool for loan for anyone that's changing front dampers but not springs, (allows you to swap them out without removing the strut from the car)

Ok, so front Seat splitter obtained and fitted. Wanted just to add a bit beef to the lower side as it looks like a speed boat.
Bit of a challenge this one. The underside of the speed boats hull is a right pain in the butt to site the splitter well. Bit cutting here, bit cutting there, tweak here, redrill and self tap here there and everywhere. Eventually got it looking how I wanted.
Looks cool I think, I like it Very Happy

Also fitted the FK grille for now until I obtain another standard A6 one to chop about (I don't like chopping up stuff I may need later, hence original will go in the loft)
Doesn't look as bad as I thought it would without the rings, though with the rings looks better. Just not totally duff if you catch me.

shows how different we all are to me the kamei grill I got looked cack until I fitted the original grill chrome and I was glad to ditch the huge rings as well Wink

I have a grill with the chrome outer missing if you want it

I like the splitter what is it from btw?... not that I could fit it to mine it would last about a day if that Laughing

The splitter is from a Seat Leon Cupra R. £22 from a Seat dealer, don't be fooled by ebay robbers selling them for £40

Couple of additional things I'd not posted fully,

While hoovering the cars seats, I noticed a hard fitting behind the cloth of the passenger seat upper inner side bolster. Hmmm? a quick prod around through the cloth with a thin sharp tool, I could feel a thread in the middle. Bingo!! it's the mount for the armrest optionally fitted to the non UK models, never available on UK 100/C4 A6's (though dunno why)
Makes sense I suppose, why make two versions of the same seats??, our passenger seat is a LHD drivers seat. So a search daily through ebay germany eventually paid off. I'd seen a couple, but both were in leather and both had stupid start prices (£100+) The seller I found had a cheap start price, but his listing stated shipping only within Germany. Booo, why do they do this? A bit of google translation tool usage saw a message to the chap who turned out to be great. No problem shipping to GB and he even changed his auction and added a BIN price. €36 sees it on it's way to the UK all in. Bargain.

While having messed around and loaded the FA onto a PC I bought off Andy last year and then hooked up to the LCD telly in our bedroom, I spotted something I'd wondered would be available on the C4 A6.
I have a set in my S2, but they are now long gone NLA from Audi. Would they be the same for the A6?. Seems not although they are on back order and need to come from zee fatherland.
It's the cup holder accessory for the centre console tray, like these in my S2.

Still not arrived after 7 days, They must be having trouble digging them out of the bottom of the "old" parts pile Laughing

And lastly, a clean and spruced up engine bay. Cleaned up well.

Armrest arrived and fitted.

The hex---ish fittting that keeps the armrests fixing point secured in place. The bolt is through the centre and secures it to the seat frame.

You can see the fittings behind the seat cloth after I've cut it open (scary believe me Shocked )
The hex slots into the socket on the seat frame, the bolt then secures it.

Slot the armrest hex thing into the socket, tighten the bolt and you're done.
Simples.
Ok, the cloth doesn't match "exactly", but it's not kicking the arse off is it? More than I could have hoped for from a picture on german ebay bought blind in a sense..
The top opens to reveal the inner, the whole armrest clicks up a notch at a time to about 45°, then all the way up out of the way.

One happy bunny.

Thanks for the comments thumbright

Finding time to do anything at the minute is a right pain. Work is mental.

I will fit some footwell lights at some point, also the ambient light in the sunroof/interior light panel. Maybe inner door pulls will get some illumination the same as I did in the S2. Smile

With regards to the cup holders, after a three week wait, Audi happily now inform me they went NLA on the 12th of May 2010. Spanners protest

Jase..

I think they check around UK dealers before putting stuff on back order don't they?

Bus back from being lowered.
40mm all round on Weitec springs from Germany.
Standard shocks retained.

Feels exactly as it did before James. Nice and smooth thumbright
The gumph that came with the springs said to cut the bump stops down by 20mm. So that was done too.

Sits sooo much better now.
