So How Did That Happen?
So we get a phone call last week from Granada TV, requesting some assistance with a programme they are doing, based on Audi's.
It's supposed to be a fly on the wall/ buyer's guide kind of show, and we have yet to see the results.
At fisrt we were asked for upto 6 cars, plus owners, for brief interviews and filming at Tatton Park. Ideal for us; but which 6 cars/ models?
Well, I'd stick my neck out and say the Ur quattro (launched Audi in a big way)
The Coupe (probably a GT- you guys can't get enough of them)
Maybe some exotica?- Series 3 80/90/Coupe, RS2? S2? V8? Sport quattro?
It then transpires they only need upto 3 cars, as they are borrowing cars from the Audi press office, from the new range, including the A4 Cabriolet.
3 Cars. Hmmm. Who's available?
Pembo, as always :-)- Allroad 2.5 Tdi, plus his Dave Askem prepared Rally Car. (Photo's of all are available in the gallery)
We tried for Steve Bullock's series 2 Coupe, but he couldn't make it. (v. tidy, 330,000 miles+)- good testament to Audi's reliability and build quality.
As for the other car? Well, it's been in numerous magazines and rightly deserves to be on TV- I just hope they can do it justice...
We are talking, of course, about Gary Dyers Ur quattro- an article can be found on www.audiclub.co.uk site, under articles.
The show is due to be screened in May at somepoint- we'll give you more details once we have them.
